Privacy Policy — The Tiny Chest
The Tiny Chest is committed to protecting your privacy.
1. Who We Are
The Tiny Chest operates The Tiny Chest application. We are subject to the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What We Collect
Account information: Your first name, last name (optional) and email address. Wardrobe data: Photos you upload and item details including brand, size, type, colour, condition, status and storage location. Child information: Adding a child profile is optional. If you create one, a date of birth is required, which we use only to estimate sizing and flag when an item may be outgrown. We do not use children's information for any other purpose, and we do not share it. Usage data: How you interact with the app, collected anonymously to improve the service. Device information: Device type and operating system for technical support.
3. How We Use Your Data
To provide and operate The Tiny Chest service. To display your wardrobe catalogue to you. To enhance your photos via PhotoRoom's AI processing service. To improve the application based on anonymised usage patterns. We do not sell your personal data to any third party under any circumstances.
4. Analytics
We use PostHog, a third-party product-analytics service, to understand how people use The Tiny Chest so we can improve it. PostHog collects usage and interaction data (such as which screens you visit and actions you take), device and app information (such as app version, operating system, and device type), and an anonymous identifier. This information is not used to track you across other apps, and is not sold. PostHog processes this data on our behalf, and you can read their privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy. We use this data only to analyse and improve the app.
5. Photo Processing
Photos you upload are sent to PhotoRoom for AI enhancement. PhotoRoom processes images on our behalf and is contractually bound to handle your data securely. PhotoRoom's privacy policy is available at photoroom.com/privacy.
6. Payments and Subscriptions
Paid plans and add-ons are purchased through the Apple App Store. Payment is processed by Apple, and we do not collect or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to confirm your subscription status so we can provide the features you've paid for. RevenueCat receives a limited, anonymised identifier and your subscription and purchase information (such as which plan you hold and when it renews). RevenueCat processes this on our behalf; their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy. We do not receive your full payment details from Apple.
7. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Uploaded photos are kept in private storage and are accessible only to you through secure, time-limited links.
8. Data Sharing
We share your data only with: Supabase — database and authentication. PhotoRoom — photo enhancement. RevenueCat — subscription management. Apple — payment processing. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers or any other third parties.
9. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act you have the right to access, correct and request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights contact us through Profile → Support → Contact us.
10. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, or delete individual items or boxes, that data is permanently deleted from our systems immediately.
11. Children's Privacy
The Tiny Chest is designed for use by parents and caregivers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. International Users
If you are located outside Australia your data may be transferred to and processed in Australia. By using the service you consent to this transfer.
13. Cookies and Tracking
We use minimal session storage to maintain your login state. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
14. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
